Business Development Manager

Location:  Toronto

Position Type:  Full-Time

Business Development Manager plays an integral role in the organization’s growth by demonstrating leadership in the execution and management of some of Thinking Capital’s most critical challenges, including business development, new partnerships identification, and ongoing partner account management.
Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer and managing and growing a team of dedicated Partnership Account Managers and Trainers, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities for business development, maximizing Thinking Capital’s exposure in the FinTech sector.
 

Job Summary

•    Source, negotiate and execute agreements with new strategic partners
•    Build and deliver presentations to prospective partners
•    Monitor and build the strategic partner pipeline
•    Manager and mentor a growing team of Partnership Account Managers and Trainers
•    Manage the onboarding process of strategic partners
•    Work with the Account Management team to manage strategic accounts, including but not limited to being a primary point of contact for partners, providing regular progress reports, and compiling data/analyses to support the relationships
•    Assist with strategy development to help structure decisions and accelerate growth (i.e. new markets and products
•    Actively monitor the competitive landscape
•    Collaborate with the Partner Trainer to enhance training material in order to ensure that the content is tailored to each specific partner
 

Apply if you have the following skillset

•    Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent
•    Proven business development expert with a track record of penetrating and developing  high value accounts
•    Minimum 7 years in a BD or Partnership facing role including 2 years in a management role
•    A networking guru with a portable pipeline and a portfolio of contacts
•    Established contacts within relevant providers of services and technology to small-to-medium sized businesses and associations is a great asset
•    Sharp communication and interpersonal skills
•    A knack for business presentations and negotiations as well as objection handling skills
•    Ability to effectively plan, develop and execute sales strategies
•    Knowledge of FinTech, funding and small businesses is considered an asset
•    Motivated by financial and professional success
